• Hi Seeta!

This is a really good piece.  It encapsulates so much.

It saddens me that in 2011, someone still has to write a piece like this which outlines how to avoid alienating marginalized groups.  If not for friends and allies that I know get it and want to do the work, I would just throw up my hands and become a Black Nationalist.

    • Hey princss!  Yes, we do have a long way to go, don’t we? Seems like some of the same battles keep getting relitigated over and over…and over again.  Sigh.

  • Thanks for this seeta

    Yes many concerns over OWS..

    honestly re #5

    “5.) Lack of Agenda

More than a few people have pointed out that the Occupy Wall Street
protests will merely be a cover to shore up Democratic Party support in
the 2012 elections. With an agenda focused on corporate greed, an
occasional campaign stump point during the 2008 Obama run, but little
else, one has to give credence to this worry. ”

My larger worry is that  OWS will be hijacked by the New Progressive Alliance crew, assorted white frustrati and  the Paulities, who will use it as a third party platform..

    Imho this is already occurring…

Despite the fact that i have always been far to the left of the Democratic Party, i have less than zero interest in yet another effort that will ultimately do little more than  bolster the ruthless right…

Yes at the expense of the First Black POTUS — that matters to me, a lot..

My first priority is that Obama Re-Occupy the White House and the Pelosi Re-Ocuppies the seat of Majority Leader– the rest will follow..
