Gratitude for the Harvest of This Year’s Lessons and Triumphs

The CMP family would like to wish you and yours a Happy Thanksgiving as we collectively celebrate the harvest of this year’s lessons and triumphs.

While we’ve carved out a federal holiday to practice the act of gratitude — a practice rooted in thousands of years of harvest celebrations — let us also never forget the treacherous origins of this day in the hope that we can acknowledge — with sensitivity, compassion and respect — the injustices committed against our Native American brothers and sisters in the hope that we can help our Native family rise up from and against poverty and other forms of economic terrorism.

That being said, let’s give thanks and celebrate family. But let’s not be ahistorical.

Have a safe and joyous holiday!
