Systemic inmate abuse in LA Jails

The ACLU/SC published a report on the extreme and pervasive deputy-on-inmate brutality in Los Angeles County Jails. The ACLU plans to file the report in Federal District Court. The NYT and LAT ran stories regarding the widespread abuse two weeks ago.

The ACLU also posted a blog about the abuse in LA jails. The ACLU is calling for Sheriff Baca’s resignation as well as a full blown investigation. Take action by sending a letter to AG Holder asking him to investigate the Los Angeles County Jail system and put an end to the unconstitutional and unconscionable abuse of the jail’s prisoners.

    • This story is horrific on so many levels.  The PIC is a state-sanctioned  system of torture and degradation.  When will people wake up?
