• Eric

I am a little bit confused… If there have been 4.5 million jobs created and there are still 23 million people out of work, how many jobs were lost? Shouldn’t the equation actually be
    Jobs lost + 4.5 million created = 23 million?
Just making sure I am on the right page.

    • I don’t understand the question nor the confusion.  The U.S. economy has created a total of 4.5 million jobs over 29 consecutive months of job growth.  We need to add more jobs reduce unemployment.  Job growth would have been faster if the GOP didn’t do everything in its power to obstruct every jobs bill and small business bill advanced by the President and the Congressional democrats.

Here’s a simpler version.  Let’s say there are only 95 total jobs in country Foobar with a population of 100.  Let’s say that when President X takes office, there are 95 people employed.  When President X leaves office there are only 80 jobs left as a result of policies leading to massive job losses.

President A gets elected and he consistently adds jobs.  Let’s say 1 – 2 jobs per every two quarters. After 3 years, he would’ve added anywhere between 6 to 12 jobs.  86 to 92 people would be employed, leaving an unemployment rate of still at least 8 percent.

Under President A, job growth would’ve been faster has it not been for the legislature’s obstruction of several jobs bills.  Many people are still unemployed as result of job losses that occurred under President X.

      Very simple.

    • Yes Clint Eastwood is confusing — and another liar

There are not 23 million out of work

But Eastwood didn’t make a distinction between unemployed and underemployed Americans. He simply doubled the unemployment figure.
The BLS doesn’t keep track of the number of Americans who are underemployed because of the “difficulty of developing an objective set of criteria,” according to the agency’s website. But if you add the 8.2 million Americans working part-time who wish they had a full time job and the 2.5 million people who are “marginally attached” to the labor force to the 12.8 million officially unemployed Americans, then you can get to Eastwood’s 23 million figure.”

  • i guess Clint is “invisible” now too.. His RNC melt-0down is left on the cutting room floor…

    •  @nancy a heitzeg Excellent graphs, Nancy.  There’s no denying the facts.  Only way Romney can win in the fact of such facts is by appealing to racism.  Base and disgusting.  What an immoral bastard.

    •  @nancy a heitzeg Oh yeah, and also by suppressing the democratic vote.

      • yes — they have nothing but negativity

i honestly did not think i could ever loathe any political figures more than Reagan or W — but hey R/R are giving them a run for it
